So, why me?

So, a bit of a deeper dive about me!
In advance, I want apologise and prepare for you for some classic celebrant lines to be in there, like the fact that having a great wedding myself was the inspiration 😂 So let's jump in!
I was lucky to find my passion in life pretty early on and have already been a celebrant for many years, with now a few hundred weddings worth of experience. I have a background in events, hospitality and customer service which I think helps with the chatty nature of the job.
When I get asked how I got into being a celebrant my answer is always the same. My own wedding! I'm a wife to my amazing husband Bradley, who I met under the golden arches when I was a teenager, and getting married to him was honestly the reason I became a celebrant in the first place. I was the first of my family and circle of friends to get married, so weddings were not something I had experienced until my very own and it sparked an inspiration inside of me.
So, I was married, decided I wanted to work in the wedding industry in some way, but what way? I couldn't quite put my finger on it. I then went to a wedding on Tamborine Mountain, I sat in the pews, watched the celebrant officiate my good friend's wedding ceremony and I thought to myself, "I'm going to do what she does!". It seemed like the perfect balance of being a part of the wedding industry but also being able to be home more to watch my little ones Kiana (now 11) and Tayo (now 8) grow! The next day I researched how to be a celebrant, and just 3 days after attending my friends wedding, I was booked in to do my Cert IV in Celebrancy and just like that, the best decision I've ever made for myself was made.
It's been a ride! With very few downs (cough couch Covid) and so very many ups. If you don't mind, I'm going to get a little braggy... I've been lucky enough to have been nominated for the “Brides Choice Awards- Gold Coast’s Best Celebrant” every year since I started. Let me tell you, there are SO many amazing celebrants on the GC and it's an honour just to be nominated, let alone to have made in the top 10 every year, with 2022 being the closest I've come to the top spot so far, coming in at 2nd place. In 2021 I was lucky enough to be nominated for the first time as Gold Coast Wedding MC of the year, and I actually won! And was lucky enough to keep the hot streak going and win again in 2022. I think the reason my couples have always responded so well is because I actually, honestly do care about your day. I always do a customised ceremony for each couple, and I make sure to create every element of your ceremony alongside you so it’s exactly the way you would like it and of course I get a kick out of hearing all the gorgeous love stories along the way!
Even with all the weddings I have now under my belt, I find something new, exciting and individual that I will remember about every single wedding. Weddings are an experience that I truly feel so proud and so lucky to get to be a part of. In the months leading up to your celebration and especially on the big day, I'll be there to keep you calm and relaxed. There are a few legalities that need to be said during the ceremony, but the rest is totally up to you! It’s amazing for guests to hear a ceremony where every word spoken is a true reflection of your unique style and personalities.
It's important that you are comfortable with the person you choose as your celebrant, and I hope I have given you a little insight into who I am. Your celebrant is there with you during a very significant time in your life and I hope to be the one standing alongside you.
Hopefully you will consider me when deciding on the right celebrant for your day and I am all too happy to answer any questions you might have!
